I love ironflint for a whole lot of reasons, but PTA tyrant alex has a special place in my heart cauae it always makes me laugh. It was such an unexpected hc to get from that verse i love it so much

i think, if we are permitted to be deep at this very moment, is the reason ironflint alex being pta tyrant is that it’s like the best possible situation in a way that still allows, in a new way, ironflint alex to be ironflint alex.

consider: alex finding out one of phillip’s friend is being bullied and bringing down hell on the kid. he only brings down hell on the parent if the parent is just letting it happen, but if the parent has too much on their plate (ie: 8 jobs), they’re saved from his wrath (he might even try to help them out ot get them to attend to their kid).

alternately: alex learns a kid is homeless. swoops down right on that motherfucker and is like “hey, we have an extra bed!” and phillip’s like “why is mike in my house now?” and alex is like “sleeping on a bench is not good for working on homework.”

naturally i’m sure alex is a very divisive figure. even the people on his side probably don’t like him all that much. it’s like “oh, you know, alex DID get ‘the diary of anne frank’ back into the curriculum, but… he’s kind of… uh.. he’s a handful. and the people who DON’T like him “that guy is a fucking whacko and his kids should be taken away from him” or some other really fucked up shit.

although it’s interesting ot imagine that i’m sure it not that hard to figure out that alex used to be George Washington assistant and Washington is in jail now which means alex is probably culpable for some crime or another so they assume he’s like secretly a murderer or something. and he’s like “if i’m secretly a murderer, what could i do to you?”
