Sep. 10th, 2016 06:04 pm ok, but imagine “wait for it” only sung by greenhouses washington. staged with hamilton running around doing things [writing, probably, mostly, also pacing, reading, etc]. lighting on hamilton, throwing washington (and any other ensemble cast) into shadow. washington gets close to but doesn’t touch him; watches him with baffling, fond affection as he sings. the staging clearly indicates that washington’s not “there” in real life as ham is doing whatever he’s doing, somehow.
death doesn’t discriminate
between the sinners and the saints
it takes and it takes and it takes
we keep living anyway
we rise and we fall and we break and we make our mistakes
