srry if this ask makes you- uncomfortable, or any of the sort!! anyway, in Ironflint verse idk it seems rlly teetering on a non-con relationship, with just small threads that keep it separated from going into that category? and so, i was wondering if at any times in the relationship did it cross the boundary into just legitimate rape?srry if i've just read the entire verse wrong, and in that case u can ignore this ask
i think it’s completely reasonable to think nonconsenual things have happened in their relationship even if you run under the assumption alex is sensibly-minded enough consent to most of their regular activities. (i think you could argue that he can’t consent overall as well, but that’s a bigger thing.)
i’ve covered this in some length here (in part two) but in summary i feel that if alex got them to some point and riled washington up enough, washington wouldn’t stop if alex said stop because he has an uncontrollable temper and is also a very bad person. furthermore, alex would NEVER admit to the weakness of wanting washington to stop, of feeling vulnerable or out of control in the wrong way. even if he didn’t want something to happen to him, he could only “ha ha stop” washington. they do not safely interact or communicate in a way where a) alex would say “I gave you consent and now i am retracting or” OR b) washington would LISTEN to that sort of statement.
i haven’t written any noncon in the verse, but i think assuming that there have been specific circumstances where alex feels really bad that they occurred and self-harms to forget about them and pretends they don’t happen and gets shitfaced so he can look at washington the next morning – is pretty reasonable.
