Also, how does Ironflint-HPE!Alex handle Philip being in university? I mean he still has kids in school to be PTA dad for but like I'm sure he somehow still manages to embarrass Philip and shock his new friends someway (or idk maybe one of them ends up coming across Alex while they're doing a project and is like 'your dad is Alexander Hamilton? Like the one who was part of the thing with Washington's company? Do you think he would be okay with me sending him some questions for my paper?)

alex is an embarrassing dad because he’s super frank about everything. like if they’re setting up phillip’s dorm, he might be like “you should put condoms in the bottom drawer and not that printer ink.” or maybe like “are you sure you want anyone who comes in here to see your giant Fast and the Furious 40 poster?” or eliza packs them with decorative pillows and alex is like “you’re not actually going to use these decorative pillows so how about i just trash them and keep it a secret from your mom.” and stuff like that.

since washington was pretty hardcore in the news i’m sure there are at least SOME people who know that connection exists. phillip was probably old enough to have some acknowledgement of alex being deposed and just being really super shaken up by the whole thing and having a lot of old urges that he wishes weren’t a part of him, but it’s hard as a kid to really process your dad, who’s always like… the person who’s super there for you in his wierd way, looking so distressed. (i bet when he looks back on this 6-7 years later, he’s like, holy shit, dad was REALLY in a bad way.) wow, side-track. but yeah, i’m sure if you were interested in the washington case as a person, it’s pretty reasonable you might know that alexander hamilton was involved. although hamilton is probably a pretty common name so i don’t know how many people immediately make the connection, especially phillip’s age.

that being said i’m sure a lot of the professors know the connection (especially business and legal ones) because they all watched the case extremely intently. so i wonder how their interactions with phillip would change knowing his dad is alex hamilton, even though alex hamilton was a key witness in the case.
