I just wanted to let you know I literally shivered reading about Tyrant Verse Lafayette! I can only imagine how terrified Alex must be of him; after all, if he's discovered disloyal, he would probably face the marquis. Anyway, as always, your AUs and ideas are great!

he is like DEATH INCARNATE.

on one hand the marquis does not obviously SLEEP in his armor; he is seen plenty around the interior places of the castle only in his under-armor gear and exceptionally rarely in his sleeping clothes.

on one hand, it does puncture a hole in this carefully cultivated image of almost inhumane terror to see a man complaining that his coffee is too hot, or that there is a rip in his underclothes, or that he didn’t have enough blankets to sleep under last night….


… on the flip side, to know that this terrifyingly vicious person is DEFINITELY a real human, and that real humans are capable of not only the levels of violence and malice the marquis is capable of - but relishes in it in his excellency’s name – it doesn’t make alex feel good at all.

oh also his loyalty to the king is NOT a fucking joke. he is very much the most loyal creature you could ever be. might as WELL be bound magically to his excellency’s will.
