has ironflint alex ever gotten into legal trouble while working for george? i remember you mentioning that alex is a compulsive shoplifter and he uses drugs as well, so does he ever get into trouble with the police and if so how does george take it?

yes and no.

so i feel like there’s this five or six week period right after george promotes alex to his EA where he’s basically like “learn literally everything about me” where alex isn’t spending a lot of time doing anything other than bringing himself up to speed. in my head this is alex pushing off the piles of crap on his desk and sitting down with the company handbook and washington’s rolodex and i don’t know and just… opening his brain and pouring GW’s life into it.

and i think there’s times where he asks GW information that Alex should already know (like for example, ‘how do you want your steak cooked?’) and there’s this process where alex is always writing all of the stupid preferences he’s required to know.

but anyway i think there’s a point where he’s actually so busy with work that he doesn’t get into any serious trouble for a while. and i think in that time, alex basically elevates status into the kind of person who skates away from most trouble, because he’s rich. you know what i mean? i think that not necessarily that his picture is shown to cops or anything, but that washington (a military vet and also bearer of substantial donations to the fraternal order of police) might let his friend the police chief know he has a new assistant and he’s got a wild streak but you know, it would be super disruptive to GW’s life for him to spend a night in jail unless the circumstances, you know, really dire. i imagine GW is well known as a person that you really, really, really do not want to cross, and if he says ‘don’t arrest this guy,’ then he’s just not going to be arrested unless itls like alex is like in the process of obviously setting a puppy on fire or something. i don’t think it’s that unrealistic.

i can imagine him being busted some drug party where hasn’t worn any of his nice clothes and he just looks.. you know, like a ratty latino dude. but the one cop says “wait a second” when they’re looking at him and one’s like “is that george washington’s guy?”and they bully alex for his ID and eventually he shows it (alex, of course, despises cops) and they’re like “yeah, you can go.” and alex is like “what?” and the cop is like “i said, you can go, don’t do it again.” and of course alex doesn’t look a gift horse in the mouth but even thoguh he’s getting off it doesn’t make him feel good.

i’m sure when alex feels he was arrested unfairly, he also namedrops washington as his boss and talks about how much he hates disrupting the guy and ugh, can you imagine how much it much shake you from your train of thought to get a call from jail? that you were racially profiled? ugh.
