I just wanted to let you know that when I saw you reblogged that cute plant drawing my first thought was, "What would happen if Greenhouses George accidentally grew/acquired a sentient plant?" and I realized I am in love with that verse way too much.

ok, i need to know more about the plant. can this plant EXPRESS its sentience? like, can George and the plant communicate? Does the plant speak english? I need more details. Does it walk? I need to know more.

there is no way this is not a great universe. either the plant is like a foot tall and washington carries it around in it’s pot and asks its opinion on things…

…. or it’s like eighteen feet tall and is washington’s bodyguard but actually wouldn’t harm a fly. or some combination, i guess.

also what kind of flower is it? is it a cactus? because aww. or an orchid? or a tulip or something????

So would Hamilton poke/prod at the poor plant out of a desire to figure out what the hell is going on? Would George defend it? I am so sorry but I am cackling at this whole thing.

Hamilton would definitely want to do experiments on the plant. But Washington would be like “how would you like it if someone wanted to do experiments on YOU?” and he would keep it with himself so that he could protect the plant from Hamilton.

Important thought: Sentient Plant messes with George before revealing itself (and, in my view, it should speak English because if you're going to do Weird Things you might as well go all the way). It moves itself around the Greenhouse and George catches it one day. Hilarity ensues.

the worst is that he would blame a) hamilton and b) lafayette and they would both be like WE DIDN’T TOUCH THE DAMN PLANT!! and like, there’s no reason either of them have to lie to him so he’s hella confused? and also angry? are servants fucking around in the greenhouse? servants are not allowed to fuck with the greenhouse? this is actually like the biggest scandal for a long time in mount vernon. someone fucking around in the greenhouse is pretty serious business!

until one day he spots the thing and he’s like what the fuck? and it’s like “oh hello general washington!” and george is so confused. poor george.
