There used 2 b an entire code language that was based auround flowers for lovers in the victorian era( wrong era i know, but bear with me) all this to say: george and ham using the flowers to send each other cute messages would be awesome

actually i know that! there used to be a really good hockey RPF fic in which was all about this (called “say it with flowers”). i confess writing an actual prompt about this would require research and i’m so lazy i can’t do that. but this is DEFINITELY something alexander would do. and i actually think it might be common in greenhouses verse? so then maybe alex would do it out of principle. i don’t know, that’s not canon. but yes, alex creating these bouquets? leaving particular flowers aaround the manor? putting them in george’s books and around his office? in the greenhouse? GETTING LAFAYETTE INTO THIS.

“hey lafayette. give george this.”

“you don’t want to give it to him yourself?”

“no, it’s more mysterious if you do it.”

george actually is super deft at these responses too. he comes up with some really creative combinations. alexander is actually taken aback by how flower-witty his husband is although on second though, he’s like “why didn’t i see this coming?”

it’s really great and cute! also alex with a tulip in his hair that george gave to him. george gets alexander a flower brooch as a gift. i don’t know what it means. loyalty? faithfulness? i don’t know but i definitely think alexander has a brooch that he wears allthe time that reminds him of george. and one day he loses it by accident like in the woods and he’s like digging around for HOURS and finally he finds it and he’s so relieved.
