greenhouses thing: when was the first time Hamilton realized that he'd begun to care for Washington? we've seen Washington realize he was in love, that he wanted his opinion, etc. What about Hamilton? what were the big moments for him?
one of hamilton’s biggest moments in realizing that he cares about washington is when he sees him in the grip of his “sulk” ala pstd flash. like, hamilton has always had a lot of worship for washinton based on winning the war, being the great unifier, etc. so when this guy he’s always respected forces him to marry him, he’s like “oh, i thought he was a benevolent leader, but in fact he’s a complete fucking douche.” so this giant flash of humanity and weakness and vulnerability really sort of brings him around to the fact that, ok, maybe there’s more to this marble general than i thought. and the way he talks about flowers not as trophies or things to benefit him, but as living creatures that he just supports, is a huge breakthrough. and other stuff too. i don’t even remember what happens in parts of the story. really. holy fuck this story is so long.
