You may not be okay mixing verses like this, but if you are: a greenhouses au where washington has ironflint wash's personality and greenhouses' wash's attraction to a hamilton who is trapped in a marriage he really, really Does Not Want

i’m trying to understand this question but I’m not sure I’m right? So there’s ironflint wash, and he’s married to greenhouses alex, but then greenhouse wash is like, a side character who is friends or at least has a crush on greenhouses alex. Right? That’s what I’m running with here.

i’ve actually thought and written a fair bit about “dark greenhouses” in which washington is a mean person who actually does lock hamilton in a root cellar because he’s an uppity ass.

but if the washington in greenhouses was in fact ironflint wash, then greenhouses would be very different, because:

it would be a military dictatorship
of which he was the supreme leader of
where washington’s enemies were rounded up and executed
therefore no one is wondering above a very quiet whisper in the dark if anything is wrong with His Excellency King Washington, as they do not want to be executed
actually this totally made me think of something i once read which i think was related to assassin’s creed 3 where george washington was His Most Excellent Excellency King Washington. I was trying to track down a quote about Hamilton being Washington’s Ganymede, that I couldn’t find. I did, however, track down this art by @publius-esquire. Presuming that we handwave WHY Ironflint Washington has married Hamilton, there are two ways we can continue down this weird storyline.

Ironflint Ham & Greenhouses Ham are actually a lot closer in terms of character than the Washingtons, and I could definitely see a circumstance where Greenhouses Hamilton understands the shackles he now wears, and also understands the benefits of being Washington’s husband, even past the whole “doesn’t want to get executed” thing. So there is a push and pull and a give and take there. Would their relationship be *fair*? No. But if anyone’s capable of milking blood from the Washington stone, it would be a dot. ham.
so then what’s the core evolution for a. ham there then? If he’s mostly self-centered Hamilton, he could definitely use this to grow himself politically. BUT!!!

Imagine an a-dot-ham who is married to this ruthless dictator king. hamilton is completely opposed to this dictatorship and pretends to be a good husband whenever he is around washington. BUT!!! THEN!!! during the night FEEDS A SECRET REBELLION GROUP INFORMATION ABOUT HOW TO TAKE HIS HUSBAND DOWN. OF COURSE THIS SECRET REBELLION GROUP WOULD BE LEAD BY A RAGGED OLD GENERAL WHO REMEMBERS WHAT FREEDOM WAS AND IS DRIVEN BY AN ETERNAL STEEL CORE OF DUTY TO ALWAYS TRY TO DO WHAT’S RIGHT!!!

there’s the fic. the fic is hamilton and rebel leader greenhouses!washington meeting in secret places and exchanging information and trying so hard to overthrow this horrible ruler and they’d both be tortured and murdered horribly if this was ever exposed so? fuck it? furious lovemaking in the silent dark. gentle kisses becuase no marks can ever be left. no promises of affection are ever made because they have these roles they have to play.
