Like most ideas of this nature, it had of course been Hamilton’s idea. And Washington had found it wonderful the first time, and so he had taken it into account. His regular study desk was not suitable, due to the shape. He had another desk commissioned. This desk Hamilton could sit safely under, his knees protected with a pillow.

Washington liked the thought out of, the practice. Hamilton’s warm, quiet mouth was so unusual and wonderful, wrapped around him. He sometimes would lower his hand, and just touch Hamilton’s hair, neatly queued. The heat helped him concentrate, as calm and regular as it was. He had a lot of letters to read, regarding laws. It was very boring. But he could focus more easily, with Hamilton’s mouth soft and wet. And Hamilton there, his eyes closed, his mouth slack.

They were quiet. Washington stroked his husband’s hair and smiled down at him.
