how's eliza doing? are she and peggy shippen having fun? what's her and alex's relationship like? what's her and angelica's relationship like?

eliza and peggy shippen are great. i don’t know what they’re doing offscreen but they’re having a lot of exciting gay enjoyment of themselves and each other. the key being here that they are both politically connected and also from insanely rich families, so you know, it’s a hard life of going to a lot of balls and impressing other people and wearing nice clothes. i think they didn’t like each other when they were arranged as much as they do now. but eliza came to appreciate peggy’s canny and peggy came to appreciate eliza’s insanely strong spine.

eliza and alex are pretty close and alex marrying eliza before he was a schuyler definitely came up, but got dismissed becuase obviously a schuyler cannot marry a stationless, destitute orphan.i think alex was really stung at first when eliza didn’t stand up to phillip about him marrying george. but eliza’s come from the arranged-marriage-conditioning, so she didn’t see anything wrong with it (especially as they all somewhat knew george and he’s a cool guy). but they definitely complain together about angelica. they’re friends, even if eliza sometimes think alex needs to chill out, and alex thinks eliza needs to be less of a square sometimes.

eliza and angelica are.. sisterly? like, i do think eliza and angelica love each other very much, and care a lot about each other, and really want the other to succeed, but i think there’s a lot of sisterly tension where’s angelica is a quintessential big sister - so sometimes she’s kind of up eliza’s skirt about being the best kind of person, or representing the family best…etc. and likewise, eliza sometimes feels overshadowed by having this incredible older sister who everyone loves, who’s so successful, who’s done so much. so there’s a lot of great benefits and they care about each other a lot. but they’re not always in the same mind about things all the time. angelica’s definitely gone into things expecting eliza to go along with her. or if eliza suggests an idea to angelica, angelica might just take over it, so eliza keeps to herself a little, and then angelica gets upset when she finds out. so on one hand, top-notch support system and built-in best friend. on the other hand, families conflict, becuase that’s what familes - even families that love each other - do.
